TOEFL Preparation

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a widely recognized English language proficiency test used to measure the ability of non-native English speakers to use and understand English in an academic setting. It is accepted by thousands of universities, colleges, and organizations around the world, making it a key requirement for admission to many institutions, particularly in English-speaking countries.

TOEFL Test Formats:

TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test) The most common and widely accepted format, taken online at designated test centers. Sections of the TOEFL iBT:

  • Reading (60–80 minutes): Measures your ability to understand academic texts and answer questions based on the content.
  • Listening (60–90 minutes): Tests your ability to understand spoken English in academic contexts, such as lectures and conversations.
  • Speaking (20 minutes): Assesses your ability to speak English clearly and coherently. You will respond to questions and provide opinions or summarize information.
  • Writing (50 minutes): Measures your ability to write essays and express ideas clearly in writing. You’ll complete two tasks: one based on reading/listening materials, and one where you express an opinion on a given topic.

TOEFL PBT (Paper-Based Test): Less common, used in areas where internet-based testing is not available. Includes Listening, Reading, and Writing, but does not have the Speaking section.
